Pen – Paper Notes ,it’s really important tool specially when you combine with other Tools , Reading , RPM, Questions, Precision ..
Everything , everything starts from Pen (Pencil) and Paper. Any huge project, idea , story, animating the scene , creating the character ,creating some outstanding product, creating important plan .Anything that you want to achieve must start from Pen -Paper.
When we watch, read , learn something if we don’t practice it , chances are we are going to forget it , We have got to record what we have understood,
Recording growth ,steps , first impressions , feedback, experience, tiny details that made huge difference is crucial because when you look back in
your journal you can find a pattern for making things outstanding , or how to produce good results consistently.
I mean for example in last year if you have read 100 articles about 10 topics , how much you remember or how much you exactly used ? What are the most impressive and practical things you learned from them ?
Imagine in last 5 years!! So much data , so much good information , awesome interviews , animation career advice, podcasts, making of, art of , lectures, blog articles, feedback, forum discussions, webinars, Q & A , amazing animation shots from movie , new concept, and I could go on and on .
I know most of us make notes for Lectures , but I want to you do even more. I will share one cool method for taking notes that will help you produce
even more practical results.
Most of the times after school , people don’t want to use Notebook at all. Again for some people they don’t like their handwriting on paper so they don’t
want to make notes.
do those who make notes usually produce outstanding results ??
Many of them , they just made notes and that notes are sleeping in those journals. :p
If you don’t want to write in Notebook ,you can always use your computer.
And if you want to make real progress using notes maintain at least 4-5 notebooks
Eg.
I have
1) Story , Character design , drawing Ideas, References
2) Story Writing Concepts
3) Animation Lessons
4) Directing – Cinematography Notes
5) Planning Projects , Feedback and improvements
You can have more or less.
You might say ,”Come on , these many notebooks!!” believe me ,In long run , it will pay off amazingly in a way you won’t even believe.
